Moving Truck Size Calculator
Pick a 10, 15, 20, or 26 ft rental truck from home size or cubic feet. This is capacity, not a moving-company dollar quote.
How to use this moving truck size calculator
Moving truck size is volume, not a dollar bid. U-Haul-style 10-ft trucks hold a studio; 15-ft a 1–2 bedroom; 20-ft a small house; 26-ft a 3–4 bedroom if you pack tight. Oversize the truck a little — a second trip costs more than empty space.
This is not the Moving Cost Calculator, which estimates crew dollars. DIY truck rental still needs fuel, mileage fees, and insurance. Measure sofas and mattresses; a 10-ft box can be volume-ok and door-too-small.
Formula
Worked example
A 2-bedroom apartment is about 1,000 cu ft — usually a 15-ft truck, or 20 ft with patio furniture and a garage.
