Shed Cost Calculator
Estimate shed cost from size, style, kit quality, gravel or concrete foundation, and DIY vs pro labor, plus a permit allowance.
How to use this shed cost calculator
Shed prices split into kit, foundation, and labor. Big-box kits look cheap until you add a level pad, shingles, and a door upgrade. Many towns exempt small sheds from permits below 100–200 sq ft — this tool adds a permit allowance from 120 sq ft up.
Gable is the default. Barn/gambrel buys loft storage. Modern studios cost more per foot. A concrete slab is the most durable floor; gravel with skids is the usual DIY path and can be moved later.
Formula
Worked example
A 12×10 standard gable on a gravel pad, DIY, is a mid-range backyard budget; a premium barn with a slab and a crew costs several times more.
