How to use this hours worked calculator

This hours worked calculator is a single-shift punch: one in, one out, one break. Overnight work (clock-out earlier than clock-in) is treated as ending the next day. For a full week of punches, use the Time Card Calculator. For payroll rounding, use Clock In / Clock Out.

Formula

Hours = (clock-out − clock-in, +24h if overnight) − break minutes ÷ 60.

Worked example

9:00 to 17:30 with a 30-minute lunch is 8.0 hours (8h 0m).
