How to use this overtime pay calculator

FLSA overtime is 1.5× the regular rate of pay, which is a weighted average if you had two jobs or two rates in the same week. This overtime pay calculator applies that blend when you fill in a second rate. For daily California splits, use the Overtime Calculator instead.

Formula

If only one rate: OT pay = OT hours × wage × multiplier. If two rates: regular rate = (rate1×h1 + rate2×h2) / total hours; OT pay = OT hours × blended rate × multiplier.

Worked example

48 hours at $20: 8 OT × $30 = $240 OT + $800 regular = $1,040. If 30 hours at $20 and 18 at $30, the blended regular rate is $23.75 and OT uses that.
